چکیده

CHIBA, S., FUJIWARA, T., SHIONO, H. and NAKAO, T. Frequency of Australia Antigen Detected by Radioimmunoassay in Hepatitis in Children . Tohoku J. exp. Med., 1973, 109 (3), 307-308 Ninety-eight serum specimens obtained from 53 cases of hepatitis in children and 11 specimens from 10 cases of biliary atresia were tested for Australia (Au) antigen by radioimmunoassay (RIA) . Au antigen was detected in 3 out of 10 cases of post-transfusion hepatitis (30%) , in 14 out of 1 8 cases of viral hepatitis (78%) without known parenteral exposure to blood or blood products and in 2 out of 2 cases of chornic hepatitis (100%) . In contrast to them, antigen was detected in none of 23 cases of neonatal hepatitis and 10 cases of biliary atresia. Australia antigen; radioimmunoassay; hepatitis in children

Detection of SENV Virus in Healthy, Hepatitis B- and Hepatitis C-Infected Individuals in Yazd Province, Iran

Background: SEN virus (SENV) is the latest virus proposed as a cause of unknown hepatitis cases. Among nine detected genotypes of the virus, genotypes D and H are more frequent in hepatitis cases of unknown origin. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of SENV-D and SENV-H genotypes in the sera of healthy individuals and hepatitis B and C patients. Methods: Totally, 200 serum sam...

Evaluation of a solid phase radioimmunoassay (Ausria-125) for the detection of hepatitis B antigen (Australia antigen) in two clinical materials.

A solid-phase radioimmunoassay (Ausria-125) was compared to an immunoelectro-osmophoresis method in detecting hepatitis-B antigen (HBAg). The radioimmunoassay detected HBAg in approximately 230 times higher dilutions than the immunoelectroosmophoresis method. In cases of acute hepatitis HBAg could be detected for about 70% longer after the onset of jaundice using radioimmunoassay compared with ...

Detection of Australia antigen by radioimmunoassay.

A double-antibody radioimmunoassay has been developed for the detection of Australia antigen and antibodies to Australia antigen in human sera. The assay is simple to perform, and can be completed in 18 hr. Based on parallel studies of human sera, it is approximately 2000 times more sensitive than agar gel diffusion and 200 times more sensitive than quantitative complement fixation. Australia a...
